Company
This company was created out of personal experiences and a realization that there was a significant gap in the market. Large companies can purchase automated solutions or employ a staff to build, implement and manage, but what about the small businesses or individuals? The cost of a data loss is actually greater the smaller the company. A laptop of server out of hundreds is a small number, but at a small company that could be the significant portion of the organizations data or the entire companies data!
Throughout our careers we have been responsible for out own business and personal backups. Even when when working for Fortune 100 companies or startups, the issues were the same. We were on our own.
Why Backup
We have tried everything from tape, laplink, zip drives, CD's and DVD's but the issue of "location" was always an issue. Our computer, backup media, etc were all within six feet from eachother.
As we began to think about starting our own company this was one of the key concerns that we had. We initially emailed plans and proposals to eachother and that was our backup until it hit me that backup WAS the business we need to be in.
