This company was created out of personal experiences and a realization that there was a significant gap in the market. Large companies can purchase automated solutions or employ a staff to build, implement and manage, but what about the small and medium size businesses? The cost of a data loss is actually greater the smaller the company. A laptop or server out of hundreds is a small number for a large company, but at a small company that could be a significant portion of the organizations data or the entire company's crititcal information required to survive!

Throughout our careers we have been responsible for our own business and personal backups. Even when working for Fortune 100 companies or startups, the issues were the same. We were on our own.

Why Backup?

We have backup experience with everything from tapes, zip drives, burning CD's & DVD's and external USB drives but the issues of automation & "location" were always present. Our old backups methods required that we do something (load, connect or start) manually AND our computers, backup media, etc were all within six feet of each other.

As I began to think about starting a business this was one of the key concerns that I had. We initially emailed ideas, plans and proposals to eachother. We determined that email was our backup. Then it hit me that managed backup WAS the business I needed to be in.

Questions we had:
- Do small & medium sized businesses struggle with backup?
- What solutions are available for these companies?
- Do the solutions offer automation, encryption, offsite, ... options?
- Are the offerings monitored for the customer?
- Who determines what and how to back their information up?
- Who does the setup?
- What about local and remote copies of data, who helps with that?
- What if our needs change or we grow?
- What if a disaster happens? Is anyone available to help?
